Lago Ipacaraí

Lago Ipacaraí is a huge lake, located about Paraguay about 30 km south of Asuncion, the capital of Paraguay.

Famous for its tranquil waters, the lake inspired Julio Iglesias’ iconic song “Recuerdos de Ypacaraí” in 1976, adding to its romantic allure.

The lake is 24 kilometers long and 6 kilometers wide, or a total surface of about 54 square kilometers.

The Paraguay Government has announced an investment of 154 million USD to improve the water quality of the lake and to improve the surrounding landscape and social awareness.

San Bernardino is a picturesque town in Paraguay, located on the shores of the stunning Lago Ipacaraí, a 24-km long and 6-km wide lake that holds both natural beauty and cultural significance.

Known as the preferred holiday destination for Paraguay’s middle and upper classes, San Bernardino attracts visitors not only from the capital, Asunción, but also from other regions and even neighboring countries.
